I have tried page breaks to create a new header for each page 7 pages total and I still cannot find a way to create a new header for each individual page.

The 'Link to Previous' option is grayed out and Word does not give me the option to pick which type of page break to insert. Please help Headers belong to Sections. Therefore, you would need to use Next Page Section Breaks to have each page in a separate section. You could then unlink all of the Sections and insert different text into the header of each.

However, depending upon what it is that you want to appear in the header, you may be able to do it using a StyleRef field if you have the required text somewhere on each page and you apply a particular style just to that text and reference that style in the StyleRef field. Change or delete a header or footer on a single page - Create a Different Header and Footer on the First Page

 

If you want to delete a Content Control field, right-click it and select Remove Content Control from the menu that appears. After you close the header or footer, it will still be visible, but it will be locked.

Simply double-click a header or footer to unlock it, which will allow you to edit it. Headers and footers make a document look professional and also automates functions such as adding page numbers, document names and document properties that automatically update.

Headers and footers are sections of a document that repeat on every page without interfering with the body of the document. Headers and footers can contain just about any content, including tables, images, page numbers, document names, document authors, shapes and more.

Identify the header and footer sections of the document circled in orange and labelled in the screenshot below :. Double-click the header or footer region whichever one you wish to insert using your left-mouse button. Remember, this is a contextual tab and will only be visible when your cursor is positioned within the header or footer region of a document.
